Explain 'Ball Bearing is an Important Discovery' ?

1 Answer

Answer :

The use of ball bearings has made it possible to further reduce friction between different surfaces. Ball-bearing is a small , smooth metal ball. These are usually made of steel. Ball bearings are placed between the moving parts of a machine. The rotation of the ball bearings cannot cause direct friction between the moving parts of the machine. That is, instead of sliding over each other, the surfaces roll and the friction decreases.
