We panic when we have a little fever. But the reality is completely different. Not a single person in the world has ever had a fever. Fever is not a disease. A symptom of many diseases. When the fever is called the normal body temperature is 37.6-38.2 C. Until. If it is more than this (up to 1-4 sec) we do not assume that there is fever. This fever is measured with a centigrade or Fahrenheit thermometer. Types of Fever There are usually three types of fever: Continued : When the level of fever varies by 1 centigrade or 1.5 Fahrenheit in 24 hours ; But when the fever never returns to normal , it is called continuous fever. Remittance : When the level of fever varies from 2 Celsius or 3 Fahrenheit in 24 hours , it is called remittant fever. Intermitent : When fever is present in the body for several hours daily , it is called intermittent fever. If this intermittent fever occurs every day then it is called Cotidian fever. One day in a row is called tarsian and two days in a row is called quartan fever. However, due to the use of anti-fever drugs and antibiotics and other drugs, the classification of this fever is not always understood. What causes fever # Any acute infection especially pus-forming infections like boils , carbuncles , furuncles. The germs associated with it are Staphylococcus aureus , Streptococcus pyogenes. # Any viral inflammation such as runny nose , cough , dengue , whooping cough. # Diseases that cause banana damage or tissue necrosis , such as myocardial infection , arthritis , rheumatic fever or rheumatism. # Inflammatory diseases of any cell tissue organ such as meningitis , acute osteomyelitis , acute glomerulonephritis , acute hepatitis. # Autoimmune diseases such as SLE , immunological reactions. # Due to cancer of any tissue or organ. # Chronic inflammation or chronic infections , such as tuberculosis. # Inflammation of the genitals of women and men. Such as urinary tract infections , urinary tract infections , endometritis in girls , cervicitis , euphoritis, sulphinitis , prostatitis in boys , epididymitis , orchitis. # Parasitic diseases , such as malaria , filariasis , trypanosoma, etc. Fever is caused by various infections , tissue necrosis, etc. The body produces pyrogen, a substance that causes fever. These pyrogens act as stimulants to make a chemical mediator called prostaglandins. In addition, bacterial products , such as bacterial cholipopolysaccharide , stimulate white blood cells to produce ILI, TNF ( endogenous pyrogen). These help in the production of prostaglandins. This causes the part of our brain called the hypothalamus or our body to regulate temperature and affect the production of high levels of prostaglandins in the blood vessels and surrounding cells. This cyclic AMP hypothalamus regulates body temperature to a higher than normal level , resulting in fever. The test that is done to find out the cause of fever is : General test of blood TC , DC ESR. Their value will be higher than normal. # At the acute stage the amount of protein increases many times more than normal. # X-ray chest. # CT scan / MRI. # Special blood tests such as Widal, Febrile antigen # Body fluid tests such as CSF and other body fluids. # Parasites like filaria , malaria. # PCR , AFB , culture sensitivity for chronic diseases such as tuberculosis . # FNAC cytology , biopsy , lymphoma and leukemia panel for cancer diagnosis . Ways to prevent fever # Complete physical and mental rest # Wipe the whole body with water , take a bath. # Taking medicines like paracetamol to reduce fever. # Do special tests to find out the cause of fever and take medicine as per the doctor's advice. Adequate rest , plenty of drinks , fruit juices , eating normal food , bathing or washing the body with water every day , taking medicine to reduce fever if necessary will be better.
