As they are means of communication with the masses, they are known as mass communication.  Means (like electronic media) which covers large number of people at the same time. Different means of communication are radio, television, films and internet, newspapers and magazines. Significance of mass communication is shown in the following points:  (i) Covers more than 95% of India’s total population.  (ii) Source of education and entertainment.  (iii) Most instant means of mass information.  (iv) Brings all classes of people together.
