When the Swadeshi Movement, the nationalists mobilised people to boycott foreign cloth (i) Industrial groups oranised themselves to protect their collective interests. They pressurised the government to increase tariff protection and grant other concessions (ii) From 1906, export of Indian yarn to China declined, so industrialists in India began shifting from yarn to cloth production.
