I raised 1/4 acre of sweet corn 2 times.....I never used a spray on them............when corn has a worm on the top of the corn.  that means it's sweet corn.......I just cleaned it off and washed it and cut that tip off.  All those chemicals are not good for humans.  Trouble that I had was keeping the bears, deer, racoons and turkeys out of them at night time.
