My brother lives in Berkeley. When I visited at the beginning of summer, I was very impressed by the whole area. Personally I think it’s a really “friendly” place. Lots of hippies and vegans and biking and stuff but there’s nothing wrong with that. But it totally is a college town, I don’t know if you mind that or not. There’s tons of shops and restaurants around which is nice.

Last Answer : We really enjoyed Bates House Bed and Breakfast a few years back I have stayed at the Waterfront Plaza a couple of times, but I think they are overpriced. I haven't tried the Coral Reef Inn and Suites, but ... , but be sure you get one of the renovated rooms, the last I heard some weren't re-done.
