Law enforcement claims drivers shouldnt use Trapster.com on their phones while driving because it can be a distration. Your ideas as to what their real objection is?

1 Answer

Answer :

The implication being that they want to be able to make money on speed traps? Maybe it’s because using cell phones and text messaging while driving has been consistently shown to be a distraction and to cause accidents. Really, this notion that law enforcement is all about using speed traps for revenue doesn’t work for me. Maybe in a few small towns money is made on speed traps, but most law enforcement officers outside of the highway patrol will tell you they don’t pull people over unless they see something really egregious, they just don’t have the time. Why is it, if there is a desire to maintain speed trap revenue, that most states allow radar detectors? Maybe because they really just want you to slow down?
