In normal operation, first fuel from the centre tank is used and then from wing inner fuel cell and at last from the wing outer cell. The centre
tank is used first in order to obtain better stability of the aircraft. Moreover, if in case any fuel pump failure occurs, the fuel can flow from wing to engine under gravity also which is not possible from the centre tank.
