I would consult with your doctor and health care/insurance provider at the least. Years back when it was discovered I had had a herniated disc, my Ortho gave me a prescription for the steroid shot given under X-ray he said I could use if and when the pain became too great. I re-injured that part of my back 7 mos later and used the prescription.
