What does it feel like to have a GAF, (Global Assessment of Functioning), score of 100?

1 Answer

Answer :

I think this is a bit of an unfair categorization because I’m pretty sure most people would technically hover around 100, but a lot would say that they are totally overwhelmed by their problems. A good amount of that “overwhelmed” is hyperbole. I pretty sure the GAF system is designed for use on people with DSM typable conditions, with ones without those problems at a default of 100. I may be reading too much into this question, but if you think some magic switch gets flipped if only you can rev your own dial to 100, and you’ll be skipping with bunnies under rainbows in the meadow, you won’t. You will just graduate into the next tier of personal problems. Like those assignments from grade school that just seemed so difficult, are no problem for kids who are older.
