answer:There are crimes that we find so upsetting that our reaction (many of us – especially parents) is to want to do awful things to these people. However, it is precisely this instinct (or tendency) that we need to fear or keep in check through a justice system that provides a cool, rational approach to making sure that the accused is truly guilty of the crime. And it should be designed to simply remove threats from the population to stop repeat offenders. The system in some sense needs to protect us from our primal urges for revenge. Edit: To answer your question – I do not think it is OK. It makes me very uncomfortable, but I understand where it comes from.
