answer:Here’s a not-so-great answer. It depends. If I am with a lover and unclothed, then something like a feather or a fingertip on my back gives me the shivers and tickles me. If I am sitting with a grandkid and we’re in a tickle fight, then my arms can elbow joints are ticklish. As for why people can’t tickle themselves – the brain prevents it – the brain is allowing the hand to create the tickle, but also is in charge of the tickle sensors on the skin. The brain is pretty smart – those to functions cancel each other out.
