How to Cleanse Your Body
We are exposed to pollutants every day, and this contributes to the steady degradation of our bodies. The fact is that our bodies also have continuous processes and needs to keep going, from food, to drink, to thoughts. Giving our bodies a break and relieving them of the harmful toxins will help us de-stress and make for a healthier lifestyle. Here’s how:
Eat Healthy
A busy lifestyle often leads us to eating fast food and processed foods that are full of harmful toxins, high sugar and fat levels. These toxins build up in our bodies and eventually cause the breakdown or disease.
Eating healthy may mean different things to different people. For some it may mean only eating organic food and meat, those that have not been exposed to chemicals or pesticides while they were being grown or raised. For others, this may simply mean a well-balanced diet with more fruits, vegetables and grains and less fatty, processed, instant food and drink.
There are also particular fruit and vegetable diets that you can try, such as the Candida diet to get rid of Candida caused by too much sugar. You can also try treating constipation to help you get rid of the toxins building up in your body, by eating more fibrous food. Drinking more water will also have the same effect.
Exercise
It goes without saying that exercise will help you burn off excess fat in your body, but sweating can also help get rid of toxins. Exercises like swimming and walking also do their part in encouraging regular bowel movement.
Exercise also reduces stress and provides a positive outlet for all your pent-up negative energy.
Take a Break
With the advancements and the availability of technology these days, it’s hard to find someone who isn’t hooked up to the Internet or to their mp3 players. However, technology can cause a lot of stress in our daily lives.
The hustle and bustle of our daily routines have a way of sneaking up on us when we least expect it. Stress can actually cause a number of disease and organ weakness.
Take a break from your busy schedule and go away for a mini vacation. Visit a spa. People’s opinions vary on the efficacy of spa treatments in terms of actually making us healthy, but one thing is for sure: spa treatments and aromatherapy sessions are very relaxing, and relaxation is what you’re after.
Get rid of bad thoughts and hurt feelings by writing them down in a journal. Removing all these dark thoughts lurking at the back of your mind also contributes to lessening your stress levels.
You can also try going somewhere where you won’t be bothered or tempted to use technology. You can simply lie down and read a book or take a walk. Taking the occasional break can be very good for you in the long run and help you live a less stressful life.
See a Doctor
In the traditional sense of the term, “cleansing your body” may actually mean fasting or removing certain food from your diet. Fad diets are everywhere these days and it’s hard to tell a legitimate healthy diet from a fad diet. The best way to find out what cleansing method is best for you is to visit your physician and try to determine what’s best for you, whether it’s fasting, less stress or eating more organic food.
Cleansing our minds and bodies may sound a bit far-fetched for some people, but we must all do our part to keep our bodies healthier. After all, it’s the only body we’ve got. There’s no harm in trying to maintain it better.
