Firefly. Serenity was garbage. I would have ended it with the purple bellies about to close in on them, they have to abandon the ship to a junkyard, and decide to split up and lay low for a while. That way if the series ever got renewed they could explain away the time gap, the characters aging, or some characters (Book) not coming back, and the sets being different.
