There are three types of neurons on the basis of functions.
I. Sensory neurons
II. Motor neurons
III. Inter neurons
1. Sensory neurons
It carries nerve impulses from sense organs (ears, eyes, skin, tongue, nose etc) to the central nervous system (CNS).
2. Motor Neurons
It carries nerve impulses from central nervous system (CNS) to effectors (muscles and glands), i.e. the parts which respond.
3. Inter neurons
These are present in CNS. They form a link between sensory and motor neurons.
