Hi Kenyatta. I'm a former reconnaissance team leader with the 1st Recon Battalion (1st Marine Division). I can perhaps help you understand it this way. I never attended Ranger School, but we did occasionally receive quotas to send members of 1st Recon there. Now, remember, there may be some bravado involved, but not one of them said it was a really difficult school. In fact, two Marines from my company who attended said they came in first on the third phase obstacle course and they skipped across the finish line as a nod to how easy it was for them. I'm sure U.S. Army Ranger School is a real challenge, but as with any difficult school, it's not about how physically strong you are (obviously, you have to be in good shape). Passing any special operations training is about mental toughness. B
