Individuals who study Renaissance Literature, Renaissance Architecture or Renaissance Art are not looking for "workplace benefits in the modern job market." Rather these are cerebral individuals who are interested in the aesthetics and beauty of that which was created during that period in various areas throughout world history (Italian Renaissance, English Renaissance, etc.) Individuals who pursue this field of study generally go on to earn advance degrees, then take positions curating, teaching, writing, restoring or otherwise staying close to the field. Studies in the field are done for the love of the subject, not for money.
