What is a conduit (volcano)?

1 Answer

Answer :

Generically a conduit is a passageway (in the volume ofsomething else), along which something can pass, connecting tworegions together. In terms of a Volcano it is a section of itsPlumbing along which magma can flow. It can be a pipe connecting amagma chamber to the volcanoes throat, or a planar dyke feeding avolcanic fissure.
