Scotland is being invaded in two places simulaneously: in thenorth near Forres and in the south near Fife. The invasion in thenorth is led by the rebel Macdonweald and a number of Irish kernsand gallowglasses and is defeated by Macbeth and Banquo. Theinvasion in the south is led by the king of Norway aided by theThane of Cawdor. It is not stated who defeats this invasion, but itcouldn't be Macbeth: he may be a good general but even so he cannotfight two battles hundreds of miles apart simultaneously.
