Most of the battles in the US Civil War took place in Southernterritory. A large number of key battles took place in the DeepSouth including along the Mississippi River and in Georgia. Manyimportant battles also took place in Virginia. These included thetwo battles of Bull Run, Chancellorsville, Fredericksburg and onthe peninsula east of Richmond.
