How to control the speed of induction motors? Do variable frequency drives plays a role in that?

1 Answer

Answer :

VSD - DC/DC usage to drive compressors allows controlling and accurate measurements on speed and torque of compressor motors, and so enhancing its application characteristics. Integrating of VSD - DC/DC systems in compressors have significant technical and economical advantages including significant energy savings, and consequently the related reductions in CO emissions, are possible through usages of these drives in a wide variety of applications in industry. In addition, in order to omit the energy losses in DC compressors, a new zero current transition PWM forward converter is introduced, which applies a basic but vital auxiliary circuit. The converter is analyzed; design and considerations have been discussed.
