Ningbo is a very ancient city in China. Its foundation dates from 7,000 years ago. That sole reason should be enough for any tourist or traveler to want to visit it. However, and maybe because of this, the city has plenty historical monuments such as: the Asoka Temple (one of the most important buddhist temples in the history of China), the Baoguo Temple, erected during the Song's dynasty, the Tianyi Pavilion and the Tianfeng Pagoda. Ningbo city is also surrounded by several natural sights worth seeing like the Tiantai and Siming  Mountains and the Dongquian Lake.
