How do I set the power button to turn off my laptop and not put it to sleep?

Pressing the power button on the machine only puts the laptop to sleep, although it would be much easier for me to turn it off. How can this be solved?

-Press the Windows key and add the letter R, -Enter the following command in the run box: powercfg.cpl then ENTER -In the pop-up panel, find and click Specify the function of the Power switch. -You can then set when the power button responds.
