How to Mosaic a Table
A dull table can be creatively styled by making a mosaic table top. Don’t limit yourself to just painting your table. Style it up with an artistic mosaic. Here are some tips on how to mosaic a table.
Things You’ll Need:
A sturdy table with a flat surface
Sander and an 18-grit sand paper
Bucket
Adhesive
Sponge
Putty knife or trowel
Grout
Tiles of different colors
Sealant
Tile Cutter
A level

Steps:
Have a pattern in mind. You can buy patterns in crafts shops or design your own.

Buy the tiles that you need. Be careful when picking a color scheme.
Draw your design on the table and trace it on a piece of paper.
You may use a level to make sure that your table is even.
Sand your table. A slightly rough surface would make the tiles adhere better.
Wipe your table to get rid of dusts after sanding.
Cut your tiles to your desired shapes and sizes.
Put the tracing paper on the table.
Lay out your tiles on your design.
Step back and check your work. This is the time to make necessary changes on your design, the sizes of your tiles, or the color you’d like to use on your pattern.
Carefully lift the tracing paper off the table or remove the tiles, taking note of their placements on your pattern.
Add an ample amount of adhesive on the back of each tile.
Place the tiles on the table.
Make sure to leave about 1/8-1/4 inch of space between each tile.
Gently press on the tiles and wait until your mosaic dries.
Prepare your grout. Follow the instruction the comes with it.

With a clean damp sponge, wipe the surface of your table.
Wait until the table dries.
You may apply a sealant over your artwork to protect it and make it last long.

Planning your design and color scheme is very important to prevent you from getting wrong color combination.
A simple line pattern with only 2 0r 3 colors creates a formal theme.
Shapes, like flowers and hearts, give your table a casual tone.
Various color combination and textures would make a good party table.
Using a white grout may be hard to clean after some time. A black grout would give your table a more formal look.
