The name of a 24 hour time measuring instrument is a clock. Even if everything in the world stops, the hands of the clock do not stop. However, many are curious , why the clock is ticking right ? The watch was invented in England or any other country in Europe. Before that it was the sundial. Since England is in the northern hemisphere of the earth, the sun is tilted in the southern sky. For this reason, the time is measured by looking at the shadow of the bar of the sundial , the shadow rotates from left to right. Because that place is in the northern hemisphere. There, when the sun moves from east to west , the shadow of the sundial rotates from left to right. So when inventing a watch, the method of turning the clock right according to normal and empirical thinking is followed. Now the question is , what is the relationship between left and right with west-east ? Now let's sit down with a map. There is a directional mark at the top of the map. Next to it is written N or North. I mean , the top of the map is North , which is called North in Bengali. And the lower side is south. Then fall west on the left and east on the right. This is why the hands of the clock go from left to right. I mean , in fact, it doesn't go from left to right , it should go from west to east. The oldest clocks , however, did not have a spinning wheel. Yes , the sundial is the oldest clock in the world. But this sundial was also of many kinds. The oldest sundial is said to be the Egyptian obelisk. It is believed that the Egyptians learned to make this watch three and a half thousand years before the birth of Christ. Another such watch is called 'Shadow Clock'. It was built by the Babylonians a thousand and a half years before the birth of Christ . Now , in these sundials, time was seen by looking at the shadow of the sun. That is , the time-indicating thorn or bar would be fixed. The time was calculated by seeing the change of the shadow of the thorn in the light of the sun. And again , these would mean that you have to spend for these processes. There is no harm in seeing shadows. This type of clock , which means that the hands of the clock tell the time , the clock was first made in the 13th century. But then these watches did not become so popular. What will happen , there is still no need to look at the time of the people. Seeing the sun, people would understand that now it is morning or noon , afternoon or evening. There was no need to worry more about time. About 400 years later , in the 18th century, when factories began to settle down , people began to need to look at specific times. You have to go to the factory at a certain time , have lunch at a certain time and go to work again , there will be a holiday at a certain time , that is the rule of the factory! Then everyone needed that forked watch , so that everyone could do everything on time. As a result, watches became very popular. Interestingly , if the clock had been invented in Australia or New Zealand , the clock might have turned left. Because , in the southern hemisphere, the shadow of the sundial rotates in the opposite direction of the northern hemisphere, that is, from right to left!
