Windy days are usually bad for those who are vain at heart. Their good times and their good hair days are blown away by wayward gales. More often than not, these people go on through their days distracted with the fuzzy state of their hairstyles. Good thing that some people saw through this annoying situation and invented the headband. You can get one or two headbands for a very low price at beauty stores, but why pay when you can create?
When slipped over the scalp, the headband provides a steady grip on your hairstyle. It will preserve the hairstyle that it naturally creates with its tight hold on your head. It is often made with plastic, but nowadays people find ribbon headbands more stylish since they match more outfits. Obviously, the ribbon headband is your best choice if you intend to make your own headband.
Materials Used:

Shop for Materials
The first step in any do-it-yourself project is to purchase all the necessary materials and equipment. Go to a needlework store and purchase the ribbon, lining, needle, thread and anti-fray solution. Once you have the materials, proceed to a hardware center and buy a tape measurer if you do not have one.
Ready the Ribbon
When you have all the materials needed for this project, you can begin by fitting the ribbon on your head. Cut a piece of ribbon that is two-inches shorter than the circumference of your head. Ideally, you would want the ribbon to be more stable so that it can perfectly position itself around your head. Here is where your anti-fray solution will come in. Coat the ribbon with anti-fray solution and wait for the liquid to settle on the ribbon’s surface. When it dries, you can sew the ends of the ribbon together to create the general form of your headband.
Elastic Lining = No More Fuzzy Hair
Your next step is to affix the elastic lining to the inner surface of your ribbon headband. Get five inches worth of elastic lining from your supply and stretch it within the boundaries of your headband. Use your sewing equipment to attach the stretched elastic lining to your headband’s inner surface.
Once done, you can finally wear your new ribbon headband to your favorite hangout places. You can now brush away the effects of windy days en route to a fixed hairdo and a very good day.
