If all these symptoms occur, the patient should be taken to the doctor. However, in case of dog bites, some steps have to be taken initially. By doing these things it is possible to prevent fatalities. Clean the wound: First, cover the wound with a clean towel. Then clean the dog bite area thoroughly with soap and water. It is best to use antibacterial soap. It kills bacteria and other germs. However, do not rub too much while cleaning the wound. Stop the bleeding: Hold the wound for a while with pressure. This will stop bleeding. Bandage: Apply antibiotic cream or ointment on the wound. Then bandage well with a gauze cloth. If the wound site is open, various pathogens can enter it. Going to the doctor: After the initial treatment, go to the doctor and give tetanus injection on his advice. Tetanus injections must be given after the dog bites. This injection should be given within 24 hours of the dog bite. Caution: Patients are often emotionally broken by dog bites. He needs to be reassured that he will recover.
