: Aju is not broken by touching or touching the private parts of men or women. Qayesh bin Talaq narrates from his father that a man asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) if a person who has touched his genitals should perform ablution . The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said , ' It is a part of you, or a part of your body. ' ' So why break the aju if you catch it ?' ( Musnad Ahmad , Hadith No. 1826) Narrated by Hazrat Arkam bin Shurahbil. He said , " I told Abdullah bin Masood (R) that I was scratching my body while praying." In between I touched my genitals. What is the ruling in this situation ? Is Aju broken ? Abdullah bin Masood (R) said , this is a part of your body. So why break the aju ? If you hold it in another part of the body, it will not break , so why break it if you hold it here ? ( Muwatta Muhammad , Hadith No. 21). Hadiths based on such statements have been narrated from the Companions and the Tabi'is. Those who touched the place of shame would not talk about performing ablution. Narrated from Hazrat Ibrahim Nakhai. Surely Ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said that touching the place of shame will break the ablution or not ? Tahabi Sharif , Muwatta Muhammad , Musnad Ahmad , Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah , Asarus Sunan and other texts of Hadith which clearly show that touching the place of shame will not break the aju because it is a part of the body . If it was unclean, it would not break. If it was unclean , then the human body would be considered unclean all the time. If it comes out , then the purpose is to break the aju.
