Allah Ta'ala declared alcohol completely haram for the 3rd time in the verse of Surah Maeda. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning) : O you who believe! **** , gambling , idols, and arrow-throwing are all evil deeds , the work of Satan. So get rid of all this. So that you may succeed. Satan seeks to stir up enmity and bitterness among you through alcohol and gambling, and to keep you away from the remembrance of God and from prayer. Yet will you not desist from it? (Surat al-Ma'ida: 90-91) In this verse, alcohol is clearly forbidden. Regarding alcohol, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said : Every intoxicant is haraam. (Musnad Ahmad: 2/161 , Sanad Sahih , Abu Dawood: 364). Elsewhere, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: It is haraam to drink less than what you get intoxicated. (Jamiul Usul: 3112 , Ibn Majah: 3394 , Sahih).
