It is sunnat to enter the mosque with ablution and pray two rak'ats before sitting down without talking to anyone. This prayer is called ' Dukhulul Masjid ' . It can be performed by any surah-kirat in the usual manner like general sunnat and nafl prayers. In both rak'ahs, after Surah Fatiha, another Surah has to be recited and at the last sitting , Attahiyyatu , Darud Sharif and Doa have to be recited and the salutation has to be returned. Hazrat Abdullah bin Baridah narrated from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Between the two azaan (azaan and iqaamah) there are (nafl) prayers except the Maghrib prayer. [Musnadul Bajjar , Hadith No. 4422 , Almuzamul Awsat , Hadith No. 6326 , Sunan Dara Kutni , Hadith No. 1040 , Sunan Kubra Bayhaqi , Hadith No. 4172] Narrated from Taus (Rah.). He said that when Umar (R) was asked about performing two rak'ats of prayer before Maghrib prayer, he said: In the time of Rasulullah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) I did not see anyone performing it and I did not allow anyone to perform two rak'ats of prayer after Asr. [Sunan Abu Daud , Hadith No. 1274 , Musnad Abd bin Humaid , Hadith No. 604 , Sunan Kubra Bayhaqi , Hadith No. 4174] Allama Badruddin Aini (R) said , the sanad of the hadith is saheeh. [Umdatul Qari-6/358] Allama Ibnul Mulakkin (R) said , it is Hasan. [Albadrul Munir-4/292] Therefore, after the Maghrib Azan, it is forbidden to offer any Nafl prayers before the obligatory prayers. However, it is nafl to offer two rak'ats of prayers in between the azan and iqamah of each prayer. Not necessarily. Only Maghrib prayers are prohibited in Hadith. That is, if Maghrib Azan is given, there is no other prayer before Fard
