Ibn Rushd or Avers (Arabic Ibn RushdEbene Rushd (1127 - December 10 , 1198) was an Arab-Andalusian polymath , philosopher and judge. He was proficient in Islamic Sharia , mathematics and medicine. He was born in Crdoba, Spain, and died in Marrakesh, Morocco. He is famous for translating Aristotle's writings. He tried to reconcile Islamic doctrine with Aristotle's philosophy. According to him, there is a conflict between religion and philosophy. Unlike Buddhism, he did not believe in the concept of an eternal soul.
