Static Route : Static Route is a routing protocol where you have to manually define each routing route in the router's routing table. If there is any change in the network for any reason, then that data has to be updated again in the routing table. In case of static route it does not change automatically. Each routing protocol has an administrative distance. In the case of static routing, this administrative distance is 1 . Static routes are useful for small networks but not for large networks. Because large networks can have hundreds of network routes , manually defining these routes on each router is a difficult and time consuming task. This is why static routes are not used for large networks. If a small number of routers are very close in the network , then it is better to do static routing. As a result, the bandwidth will be less expensive and the network will be more secure
