yes and no. See raccoons go out at night because this is when it is easiest for them not to be spotted as they search for a meal. But the truth is they usually are up in the day and take naps and wander around looking for munchies. mostly trash cans if they are living in suburbs,cities even by the sea near picnic ares. I raised one who's mom dropped him off one day in my back yard. He comes in the evenings about 10 p/m to ask for food. But he's been here at all hours, a/m, afternoon and yes evenings. He lives in the woods as I have alot of acreage and plenty of woods. Does not like being with humans except me and he was raised with my 3 huge pitbulls. Whom cared for him as he grew up and slept with him til he was able to fend for himself. I hope this helps.
