I knew 4 people who were shot, one was fatal. I'm scared I'll be shot, but I will also say I live in a shitty neighborhood in a notoriously violent city. The chances of it happening are slim anyway you just have to pay attention, dont venture into areas you dont know about, and just other basic things when you're out in public. I can't tell you how common it is in America, but I can tell you that this country is not riddled with gun violence. Its just certain towns/cities that are bad and even then it's very small areas within them.
