answer:The differences I see between the two issues: – Getting to the moon first was something most all Americans agreed, there are many different opinions in regards to the energy crisis – Getting to the moon first was seen as a patriotic goal for the US, energy crisis is more global – Getting to the moon before Russia was portrayed in a Good vs. Evil way Americans seemed to be more unified in regards to the goal of reaching the moon first, so it was easy for the President and Congress to get behind it, they were making most, if not all, of their constituents happy. With the energy crisis issue it isn’t as easy for them to come up with one single plan of attack that will make most all of their constituents happy.
