answer:It sounds like it is the DVD. Some players have better technology for compensating for the data it can’t read because of scratches. You can actually clean them pretty safely. I don’t know how well the resurfacers do. Another thing I have done is dub one with a computer. It will read the info and do its best to correct it. Then when you burn it the new disk wont have the scratches. There may be the briefest of jumps but it wont lock up. Just a couple of thoughts. Hope it helps.
