In high school, my group of friends and I all gave each other animal nicknames that were half youthful-humor and half testosterone-fueled insults. The members were: Giraffe – for having a long neck Horse – for making neighing sounds and having large teeth Monkey – for being agile and quick Elephant – for having large ears Rat – for having a large nose Duck – for making quacking noises Moose – for being large and heavy I still think back to how the nicknames started out playfully but were easily flipped into childish name-calling when temperatures rose. High school was an interesting time…
