I’ve had a “boxer’s” fracture for many years and fortunately for me it only bothers me a little when it’s cold. Examining mine, I would say that it’s possible to perform the surgery but it seems as though it would have to be re-broken and set in a brace…but I’m not a doctor! Lol!
