answer:They do it with their votes but really the officials we elect are doing what they are expected to do. Fanatical left wingers keep their golden boys and girls where they are, and the right does the same thing. Not much room for any middle. We are being ruled by the fringes because they are the loudest. To tell the truth without the embellishment and fear tactics will get what they think they want. Both sides do it, it’s just that each side says the other does it more. So I guess the rational voters are in the minority…unless you are a Democrat…and are convinced you’re the rational one or…if you are Republican you wholehearted believe you corner the market on rationality. Until this stops we all are going to vote for the lesser of the two evils. The way anything changes, for better or worse, is when one side has a filibuster proof majority which is the new meaning of compromise. At least that’s the way it looks from my house.
