Did the ex friend herself call you? If she doesn’t want to do it, and you feel it’s not going to work either, there’s no use in trying to fix it. If she herself shows up and tries to reconcile, then maybe you should take it into consideration. (although, it seems obvious that it should be left in the past…) The third party trying to solve the issue is, pardon me, unnecessary. It is entirely between you and the ex friend.
