The dog almost bit me while feeding

I have my first dog, but when I pour food into his bowl and I want to pet him while eating, he growls at me terribly and almost bit me. It is normal? He is a small German Shepherd.

Answer :

This is normal. Do not stroke the dog when feeding. You can play with him after a meal. The dog may be afraid that you want to take his food even if he knows you well.
