In medical science, stroke means a manifested neurological disease. An uninterrupted blood supply is important for the brain cells to continue working. Because the brain controls the activities of the whole body . Through the blood, the brain receives the necessary oxygen and glucose supply. If this supply is disrupted for any reason, the cells in that part may be damaged , which is known in the language of medical science as brain stroke. If a part of the body is damaged due to a stroke, the limbs that used to move that part of the body may become numb. The right side of the brain controls the left side of the body , and the left side controls the right side of the body. Therefore, if a part of the brain is completely damaged due to a stroke, the opposite part of the body can become numb. When one side of the body becomes immobile it is called hemiplegia and when it is numb it is called hemiparesis . However, even if a part of the body becomes paralyzed due to a stroke, it can recover slowly. The role of an experienced neurologist is important in this case. It may also be necessary to take physiotherapy under the supervision of a physiotherapist. Brain stroke is by no means a heart disease. However, if the patient has hypertension , diabetes, or heart disease, the risk of stroke is increased. Stroke can also be caused by rupture of blood vessels. Types ---- There are two types of thick strokes. One ischemic stroke and the other is hemorrhagic stroke . In the case of ischemic stroke, the blood flow to any part of the brain stops, and in the case of hemorrhagic stroke, the blood flow to the brain occurs.
