How to Polish Rocks

Answer :

How to Polish Rocks
Polishing rocks is a great way to bring out the best in your rock collection, or to use smaller rocks as part of a design. It may take a few weeks or months before you achieve the best polish, but it’s totally worth it. Here’s how to polish rocks.

Manual Polishing
Materials
Big plastic jar
1/3 cup fine sand
Water
Duct tape
Medium-sized rocks
Procedure
Use a big plastic jar and have it cleaned and dried thoroughly.
Put in the 1/3 cup of fine sand.
Add in water little by little until the water is slightly more than the sand.
Add in the rocks. Don’t overfill the jar with too many rocks. You need to have lots of space where they can go around and jostle.
Seal the jar carefully. Put duct tape around the lid to make sure that no water escapes.
Shake the jar repeatedly until your arms hurt. Rest for a while before repeating or pass on the jar to another person to continue shaking.
You can also have the jar rolling around in your garden. Kids love kicking things around, and you can ask them to roll the jar around as they do so. Just make sure that you watch them while kicking to make sure they don’t damage the jar or remove the lid.
Continue doing this repeatedly for a few weeks. Check if they’ve been polished enough by taking off the lid and inspecting one of the rocks.
