Materials:
A small cup or glass
Scissors
Tacky glue
needle
small piece of cardboard (I used a shoebox)
Small pice of material
Elastic cord or string
Ribbons and beads to decorate
Instructions:
Step 1: Take the cup, put it on the cardboard and with the sharpie trace a circle. Do the same thing with the piece of cloth. Cut out both.
Step 2: Find the center of the circle and make a mark there. Draw a line from the outside of the circle to the dot. Using the scissors cut along the line to the center of the circle. Fold the ends towards each other to make a 3-d like triangle. You might have to cut out smaller triangles that meet in the middle so that it fits. Youhave to size up your ponies head so that the hat fits it, it will settle
on the right or left ear so keep that in mind.
Step 3: Place glue allong the edge of the triangle from the center of the circle to the tip. Press the two sides together to form a cone. When the glue has completely dried cut the tip of the off just enough so you can fit several ribbons inside.
Step 4: Cut your ribbons to their desired length, and knot the ends together. Going from the inside of the cone out through the hole you’ve cut in the top, pull the ribbons through untill the knoted end rest snugly in the top of your hat.
Step 5: Using the needle make a small hole near the base of the cone, and another on the opposite side. Push the elastic cord through the first hole and tie it securely in a knot on the inside of the hat. Place the hat on your pony so you can see where to cut the string on the other side so it fits securely. After cutting the elastic cord to the desired length knot the second end inside the hat.
Step 6: Take the material you cut in a circle earler and make sure that it is the same size as the finished hat, cut as neccessary. When you have the correct diameter paste the cloth on the cardboard cone
When the glue has set if you like you can take trim, a strand of pearls beads or more ribbon and glue it around the base and top of the hat.
