Nail polish is a type of color that women use on their nails. It tends to darken. If a woman is a worshiper, it will not be permissible for her to use it. Because if it is on the nails, the water of ablution will not reach the nails. It is not permissible to use it for ablution or bathing if the water is obstructed by any other garment. Because Allah says , " Wash your face and your hands." (Surat al-Ma'ida: 6) Therefore, if a woman's nails are polished, it will prevent water from reaching them. So when he performed ablution or bath while it was still, one of his limbs remained dry and he gave up one of the obligatory acts of ablution or bath. But if the woman is not praying , such as menstruation or nephras , she can use them. However, this work belongs to the characteristics of infidel women. So it is better not to use it. Because it becomes similar to them. I have heard that some people have issued fatwas saying that it is like wearing hand socks. So if you stay at home, a woman can use it for one night , and if she is on a trip, she can use it for three days and three nights. But this is wrong fatwa and ignorance. Not everything that covers the human body should be compared to socks. The socks on which masah is allowed in Islamic law are only related to foot socks. And when it is needed. Because it is necessary to wear socks on the feet due to cold or protection from dirt etc. That is why the Shari'ah has made it easy for people to do masah on it. Many times they liken the use of nail polish to massaging on a turban. This is another ignorance. Because the place of the turban is the head. And in the case of the head has already been made easier. It does not have to be washed. You have to spend months there. But the opposite of the hand. It is obligatory to wash the hands. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not make it permissible for women to wash their hands. But it covers the hands. Therefore, it is not permissible to compare it with a turban or socks if there is any curtain that prevents water from reaching it. It is incumbent upon every Muslim to make a desperate effort to uncover the truth. Not giving any fatwa for which he has to be accountable before Allah. Because it is the religion and law of Allah , there is no room for conjecture and conjecture. (Allah is the giver of tawfiq and the right guide.)
