: The method of massaging the head of women and men who have long hair during ablution is according to the hadith narrated from Rubai bint Mu'awiyah (R). The hadith has been compiled by Imam Ahmad (26484) and Abu Dawood (128) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) performed ablution to him. Then he massaged the whole head ; From the top of the head to the ends of each lateral hair ; Without altering the position of the hair. [Albani narrates the hadith as Hasan in Sahihu Abi Dawood ] Irakbi said : There is another famous method of massaging the head. That is to massage with both hands from the front part of the head to the back part. Then bring the hands back to the place where they started. However, in this method the hair spreads and becomes scattered. So the first is the best method for women. Or massaging from the front of the head to the back ; However, do not bring the hands back to the front. This is another interpretation of the hadith of Rubai (R). See also Q&A No. 45867 . Ibn Qudama (R) in Al-Mughni (1/6) said : " If you bring your hands back, you will not bring your hands back if you fear that your hair will become messy. Imam Ahmad has said this in clear language. Then he was told: How can he massage during azur ? Then Imam Ahmad massaged his hands from the front of his head once and said: If he fears that his hair will be scattered, he should do so . And if anyone wants, he can do masah in the same way as it has been narrated from Rubai (R). Once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) performed ablution on her . Will ? Then he said: Thus ; He placed his hand along the middle of his head. Then he pulled his hand forward. Then he raised his hand and placed it where he started. Then he pulled his hand back. As much as it is obligatory to partake of the part, after parting it, it will be permissible in whatever way.
