Diplomatic powers: Being the head of the state, the President has certain Diplomatic powers which are: (i) He appoints Ambassadors and High Commissioners to other countries with which India has diplomatic relations. (ii) He may enter into a treaty with a foreign country or declare war on behalf of India. (iii) He receives Ambassadors and other diplomatic representatives of the foreign nations.
