The Pineapple plant is both above and below the ground.  The fruit remains below the ground, while the leaves remains above the ground.  Incidentially, the Pineapple plant is one of the very few plants that allows every minute part to be useful for man.  The Leaves are used to treat cancer, and the fruit is often consumed by both man and beast.
