The plant needs 12 hours in the dark, like a closet, and 12 hours of light this time of year. Water it in a plate or bowl and let it drink from the bottom.  I did this at a hospital I worked at. It was so much fun to see it come back to life. keep it out of direct sunlight. You'll see new leaves popping out.  I hope this helps.
