Not really. It is a personal prerogative. I’m in grad school, and despite my feelings of grad school (don’t get me started), I don’t think anything I learned in college was “pointless”. I took art history, philosophy, drama and I was a meteorology major. But some of my friends in the same major hated taking their gen eds. They thought it was pointless. Some people refuse to look hard to see why they are are doing what they are doing. My best friend was a Coms major (what I have heard countless people call a “pointless” major). But she is successful and happy in her career now, and I doubt she would call it pointless. Its all in what you make it.
